Welcome
Wi-Health stands for A wireless network with autonomously powered and active long range acoustic nodes for total structural health monitoring of bridges. Wi-Health is a collaboration between the European SMEs and research organisations with the objective to develop and produce Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) solution for the assessment of bridges.
The project goal is to develop a solution to improve structural defect detection at an early stage before the defects have caused serious damage, so greatly reducing the costs of repairing damage. The proposed system will also significantly reduce existing inspection costs by greatly reducing the usage of scaffolding, cherry pickers and cranes which account for a substantial proportion of existing inspection and maintenance costs.
Wi-Health project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme managed by REA Research Executive Agency http://ec.europa.eu/research/rea ([FP7/2007-2013]) under grant agreement no 283283
